Collaboration in publication using VASP

Hello,
We have recently obtained the license of VASP code. Generally, we do publication work with other labs (each does a part of the publication), so, using VASP code, can we do publications with parts done with VASP (by one of the members) and other parts made by other methods and other codes (by contributors from other labs)?

Hi,

This is not a problem to report in the same paper results obtained by VASP and other codes. What is in principle not allowed (according to the contract) is to publish computational time.

In the agreement, it is indicated that the use of VASP must be done by the members registered in the same license, but there is no indication if it is possible to contribute (with results obtained by VASP) as a member of a license with other collaborator in a publication, that's exactly what we want to know (because we are new members).

What you want to do is to write a paper which contains VASP results (obtained by members of a VASP licence) as well as results obtained from other codes (obtained by collaborators who are not members of a VASP licence). Is it right?

What I mentioned about the computational time was just a side remark. Sometimes, timing of calculations are reported in papers. This is in prinicple not allowed to report timing of VASP calculations.

Hi,

We are new users of VASP code and we have results obtained by FP-LAPW that we want to confirm with VASP and publish them.
Does Benchmark in VASP license agreement mean the calculation time or the comparison between the results obtained with different codes or methods?
For some properties, where there are no comparison results, we often compare two results obtained by two different methods (example: pseudopotential (VASP) with FP-LAPW) to confirm their accuracy, is this considered as a benchmark and needs permission to publish the results or it's allowed?
